Balloons and fluffy clouds outside Denver
Rocky Mountains ahead!
There was a cycling event happening where hundreds of bikers were riding UP the mountain. We passed them for miles and miles. I took a picture of these two because they were riding hard and fast at over 11,000 feet!
Lovely scenery
You can't really tell from these pictures, but something is killing the trees up here. All of the brownish/red trees are dead or dying, and the number of trees affected is astounding.
How can this be comfortable??????
On the other side of the mountain, the landscape changed dramatically. It's beginning to look more like Utah!

The Book Cliffs
Not this again!
American Fork Canyon.
It has been almost 10 years since we drove in to Salt Lake from this direction, so we were surprised to see these had popped up at the end of the canyon.
The Wasatch Front and Y Mountain. The "Y" stands for Brigham Young University, where we both spent a lot of years. Eric and I actually met there in 1984.
What a long drive--and loooooong post!
