Sunny Weather Snow Birds

A weekly ritual we had when living in Salt Lake City was Sunday brunch.  And when weather permitted, Sunday brunch on a patio somewhere gorgeous.  We set out this morning to have brunch up Emigration Canyon on the patio at Ruth's Diner.  I guess everyone else had the same idea--too crowded.  We ended up back in the city at a great little restaurant with a fantastic patio.  I have no idea the name of the place, but we had a wonderful meal with Pam's sister Celesta and husband Steven joining us.  Friends Jesse, Pam, and two of their kids Katie and Mauss were there too.  I wish I had pictures, but this is one of those times that we were all busy eating, talking, laughing and enjoying each other and I forgot to take pictures. 

Next we loaded the gang into the car and headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon.  We have to take advantage of these mountains while we can!  We were off to another ski resort, Snowbird.

You don't see this every day!

Snowbird had a similar set up as Park City, with lots of activities for the kids.  Here we go with more jumping!

This alpine slide was set up on the bunny slopes, so it was a little more manageable for the girls.  They could ride the ski lift and take the slide by themselves--as many times as they wanted!

Instead of taking the tram back to the resort, we took a short hike to a lower ski lift--which we rode down the mountain.  And, snapped about a billion pictures along the way.

Since we've been gone, someone drilled a hole through the mountain!

The ride down on the ski lift was just perfect.  It was silent, a tiny bit chilly and the scenery--spectacular!

Once we hit the ground, it was time to head back down the canyon.

We put the girls in front of a DVD and grabbed some take-out from our favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Cafe Trang.  It was a great way to spend our 11th anniversary!
